Our Summer Activity Guide is now available with all kinds of activities to fill your days with summer fun!
For the kids, we’ve added many new camps, including two new skateboarding camps (and an end-of-summer Skate Jam!), three new musical theater camps, a bunch of new dance camps (including K Pop Dance Moves and a Pop Star-Taylor Swift-themed camp!), and more art and gymnastics camps. We are proud to be partnering with many local organizations, including two fun camps sponsored by the Poulsbo Historical Society. Parents, do you have a hard time getting kids to camp because of your work hours? We’ve got two new evening camps to accommodate that, Summer Nights Track Camp taught by local high school coaches and Girls Intermediate Volleyball Camp. We’re also offering Kids Night Out, three evening hours of playing games, exploring Frank Raab Park with glow sticks, and having fun with crafts. A great opportunity for the kids to have some fun while you have a date night!
Celebrate our country’s 250th anniversary this 4th of July! We are excited to kick off our Summer Nights at the Bay Concert Series with a July 4th Celebration, presented by Edward Jones. We have two bands lined up, plus line dancing and more. Bring a picnic and the entire family and come celebrate with us! We’ll continue to have concerts every Tuesday following that through August 11 that include a variety of genres and incredible bands. Are you interested in learning more about our Declaration of Independence and the other documents our founding fathers created? Join City Councilperson Michael Fitzpatrick for three days of discussions about these important papers.
Seniors, come meet our new Senior and Adaptive Specialist, Jesse Allred, during her new Walking Club program. Meet at the Recreation Center on Monday mornings and enjoy fresh air, exercise and companionship as you walk to one of Poulsbo’s beautiful parks. A new senior low-impact movement class, Lifelong Strength and Mobility is starting on Thursdays, using weights, balls, bands and steps. Both classes are free!
Summer is a great time to enjoy Poulsbo’s parks. Take a look at our parks map on page 51 and discover all of them.
Whether enjoying music at a concert, walking or playing in the park, or learning something new in one of our camps or classes, come see what Poulsbo Parks and Recreation has to offer.
Registration begins online, by phone or in person at 8 am on Friday, May 22. Some programs are already available for registration.
We look forward to seeing you soon and thank you for being a part of the City of Poulsbo’s Parks and Recreation community!
