PARKING

Velkommen to our downtown parking page intended to contain all information about parking in our vibrant Viking City. As our downtown population grows and as well as our popularity, so has our parking needs and our city council’s desire to continue to make our city accessible for all wishing to visit our downtown, now and into the future.

To accomplish this, we have installed improved signage, dedicated employee parking, shared employee parking and time restrictions of 15 minutes, 1, 2, 3 and 4 hour limits as well as maintaining untimed parking within 5 – 10 walking minutes of our downtown core. These changes were implemented in 2025 along with the addition of parking enforcement by LAZ Parking from 10 am to 6 pm daily.

This summer, we will implement paid parking at the Anderson Waterfront Parkway. Rates will vary per season and be $3/hour during peak season (April 15 – October 15) and $1/hour during non-peak season (October 16-April 14). Hours of paid parking are 10 am to 6 pm and Tuesdays and Federal Holidays are free.

PRESS RELEASE

The Poulsbo City Council formally confirmed implementation of the City’s downtown
parking program at its business meeting April 15. The program reflects best practices, including the
introduction of paid parking in limited high-demand areas downtown beginning summer 2026 to improve
parking turnover and consumer choice.

What if I go grab a coffee at 8am?

What are the hourly parking standards outside of Anderson parkway?

The hourly parking standards vary by location.

Why are we doing this?

Over the years, downtown Poulsbo has grown as a regional destination for dining, shopping, and waterfront activities. At the same time, more employees and residents are parking long-term in customer spaces. The result has been limited turnover in key areas, making it harder for visitors to find parking. Implementing enforcement ensures fair use of shared parking and supports local businesses by keeping customer stalls available.  For more on what led the city council to this decision, visit the Poulsbo Planning and Economic Development Department’s – Parking Implementation Page or the Downtown Parking Advisory Committee Page.
