A summertime staple in the community for over 20 years, tens of thousands of families have enjoyed our free concerts at Muriel Iverson WIlliams Waterfront Park. With a gorgeous backdrop with scenic views of Liberty Bay, families often bring picnics to enjoy, get their dance on, and mingle with neighbors. Concerts often have a variety of other fun activities, such as free raffles, games, and prizes for all ages.

Thank you to all of the artists who submitted an application for the series this year. We truly appreciate the effort, talent, and enthusiasm that goes into every submission.

New this year, our series will kick off with a double header concert on Saturday July 4, from 2-6 pm in honor of our nation’s 250th birthday!

July 7:          Navy Band Northwest

Navy Band Northwest is the United States Navy’s musical ambassador in the Pacific Northwest region. Through military ceremonies and public performances, Navy Band Northwest serves to heighten esprit de corps throughout military and civilian communities, promote patriotism, and increase public awareness of the Navy’s mission. This 35-member unit is comprised of professional musicians performing in various ensembles including ceremonial band, parade band, concert band, rock band, New Orleans-style brass band, jazz combo, brass quintet and woodwind quintet. The brass band performs funk, rhythm and blues, jazz and soul music in the New Orleans tradition.

Nashville-based artist, Kara Hesse blends grit with grace in her upcoming album ‘Devil & the Dove’. Native to the Wichita plains and raised in Boulder, CO, Kara’s midwestern roots seep through her sultry voice and songwriting with an eclectic blend of Americana soul and rock n’ roll, with the underbelly of a raw, deep cut ballad. Her songs have landed on television shows (CBS, ‘Scorpion’ and DirecTV, ‘You Me Her’) and has shared the stage with acts such as Steve Miller Band, BB King, Al Green, and Buddy Guy.
